I’ve had several people say that my book series sounded interesting but they have no time to read books. They asked if there was an audio version. Having an audio book produced costs thousands of dollars. (Yipes!) So, I set about doing it myself.
I have been recording the chapters of my first book in the Siege of New Hampshire series β Plan B: Revised β as podcasts. The plan is to upload one every week, God willing. If you haven’t read the books, give it a listen, and let me know what you think.
Many thanks to Todd and Brian for their advice and encouragement. Hats off to Jeff for guiding me through the use of Audacity as the recording/editing software.
Gee I know that voice π Good to hear from you even if it’s your own writings in the spoken word.
Hard to get a half hour of uninterrupted time to listen to the chapter Mic, seems every time I pause it to do something it goes back to the beginning.
Probably operator headspace and timing π
Hi Michael,
It could be the embedded player that doesn’t remember where you stop. Hadn’t tried that yet. I’ve submitted the podcast to other carriers like Apple Podcast and Google Podcast, but they’ve got approval processes to wait through. There is a download option (little tiny box button). Maybe if it’s on your local drive, you computer’s player will have a memory.
The chapters have been working out to be a bit over a half-hour long each.
